Canisius begins staircase from the top down. Getting the 450 pound posts up onto the loft and standing was quite the tricks! Notice block and tackle on truss.
One patch at a time! But it was worth it. This Douglas Fir beam is 24 feet long and 21 inches wide. If you scroll down quickly...its like magic!
The beam had to be scraped in small sections. After each small section was scraped, I had to sharpen the scraper with a good file.
The sections over the stairs had to be scraped with one hand on the beam for support and the other on the scraper while leaning over the stairs.
I now have forearms like Popeye!!!
